Deep into the task of scanning

Officials of Quinco Behavioral Health Systems, a network of mental health treatment centers based in Columbus, IN, were not getting far with their review of document imaging systems until Jeff and Cathy Nelson of Elkhart, IN based LaserFiche VAR, Bolt Document Management walked in the door.

"They met with us as a committee much as several other companies," says Jennifer R. Harrison, Quinco's Vice President of Quality Resource Services. "There was one major difference, however.

"Before proceeding into what they could do for us, Jeff and Cathy took the time to ask us what it was we wanted from a product, to determine the scope of our project, and to learn a bit about our records."

Adds Jeff Nelson: "We won that competition because we are working with a software package such as LaserFiche that was built with the customer in mind. It's a lot easier to let the customer give you their wish list if you're confident that your product is going to be able to answer virtually all of their needs."

Quinco is now deep into the task of scanning hundreds of thousands of patient files to build their LaserFiche database. One of their goals with this project is to get rid of as many of their paper files as possible to lessen the load when they move to a new headquarters building that is currently under construction.
